Thanks so much for singing up to my SubStack! I’m so excited you’re here. Frankly, I’m excited to be writing newsletters instead of constantly hustling to create video content for a weirdo algorithm. I’m looking forward to connecting you guys in a more meaningful way. In my new newsletter series I want to take you guys behind the scenes. Share which recipes I’m testing. What I’ve learned, uploaded to the blog that week. I have loads of ideas for this newsletter, but of course I’d love to hear from you, so if you have ideas, let me know! I think it’ll hopefully morph and grow as time goes on!
I fuck up recipes every single week.
I love the title of this email because it’s so true! I screw up all the time. I wouild’t say I’m a professional cook or baker. I’m a home cook and baker. And frankly, I’m proud of that. I test recipes and tweak them to perfection before they go on the blog. Sometimes though, it takes several goes, and then some before I write and hit ‘publish’ on the blog. I once baked a pastistio recipe 6 times before i posted it. The house got super tense. Anthony stayed away from what he later called the ‘pastitsio meltdown’ zone. But that’s part of the process. I get a lot of learning done in those fuck ups. And that’s one of the things I want to share with you in my newsletters.
This weeks recipes
Heres this weeks recipe in case you’re looking for some kitchen inspo:
Beetroot Cured Salmon - stunningly gorgeous and easy appetiser!
Caramel Crunch Brownies - chewy, rich and crunchy brownies!
Super Moist Banana Bread - This one is on heavy rotation in our house
Got suggestions?
I’m going to end the email here. I want to hear from you. What’s something you want to see in this newsletter that’s going to make you excited to open it up when it hits your inbox? Nothing is off the table!
Zoe
Tomorrow is Saturday, I’m uploading a fab easter recipe and spending some time with Anthony and Zoe. She’s at such a cute age. Climbing everything! Her curly hair is just out of control cutness!
I’m just so excited for this newsletter!

If you’ve got suggestions let me know! I like the idea of finishing my email newsletters with a little bit about Zoe. I’ll treat it like a journal or time capsule of what zoe is up to.
It helps SO much to hear that you struggle with recipes, too.
For as much as I always say, 'baking is my therapy', half the time, it can make me need an extra therapy session... 😉
